Epiphany Week 6–Carry the Light

Scripture

John 1:4–9

Matthew 5:14–16

Big Idea (For Parents)

Epiphany isn’t the end of the Gospel story—it places us into the story with an important role to play. The Light revealed in Christ now shines through His people.

Family Reflection

Jesus is the Light of the world.

And now, He calls His people to shine.

Epiphany reminds us that faith is not seasonal—even when the calendar turns.

The Light we have received is meant to be carried forward.

Discussion Questions

• What does it mean for us to be a light?

• Where is God sending our family next?

• What practices from Epiphany do we want to keep?

Practice — Preparing for the Next Season

• Name one Epiphany habit you want to carry into Lent or the rest of the year.

• Close with gratitude for the Light that has found you.

Closing Charge:

Over the last six weeks, we have witnessed six epiphanies—six moments when God revealed Himself, appeared unexpectedly, or cast His light into the lives of His people.

We saw the Light go public in the visit of the wise men.

We learned how the faithful come to recognize that Light through patience and proximity to God.

We watched the Light welcomed with joy—and resisted with fear.

We witnessed how the Light draws generosity, worship, and self-giving.

In every case, God revealed Himself, but the responses were not the same.

Some rejoiced.

Some waited faithfully.

Some resisted.

Some gave themselves to the Light.

Epiphany reminds us that the most important question is never whether God has made Himself known—but how we will respond when He does.

The Light has appeared.

The Light has gone public.

The question Epiphany leaves us with is simple and searching:

What will you do with the Light you have been given?
