Songs From Christ Church
Bless the Lord Bless the Lord all you His saints Love the Lord—come bless His name Every heart and every tongue All of the old and all the young Bless His name Bless the Lord seek first His face Love the Lord our hiding place Even when troubles come our way Still we will lift our voice to say Bless His name Praise to the Father Praises to the Son Praise to the Spirit who makes His people one! Praise in the blessing; praise in brokenness In every season as one we will confess Bless the Lord the glorious one Love the Lord—shout what He’s done He came for the wretched broken ones Lifted us up and made us sons Bless His name Bless the Lord our gracious God Love the Lord for His wondrous love Yes He will give and take away Our lips will never cease to say Bless His name
Justified Freely Sin has gripped this heart of mine Inclined toward death running away from life Destined to roam and wander a slave to lesser loves The spirit says now there’s freedom its found in Jesus’ blood The reconciling wonder of God I’m made alive by the work He’s done I’m justified freely, justified freely The perfect Son who died for me The risen, reigning King of Glory I’m justified freely, justified freely All fall short of Your glory Exchanging truth for vanity We’re the adulteress lover, slaves to lesser loves But now there’s a different story of victory through Jesus’ blood Nail-pierced hands, bleeding side Through death He crushed the old serpent’s pride The thrice holy One has paid the cost To seek, save, and suffer for the lost
You've Been So Good When the night feels endless When our joy feels hushed When we are holding pieces You are holding us In the quiet questions When their volume’s rise You have gone before me So I’ll trust you every time You’ve been so good You’re the God we can trust Every trial predestined Bringing blessing to us We remember mornings When we had lost our song Your mercy always calls us You meet us with a Psalm Every open doorway Every closed one too Our hope will not be shaken Light is breaking through When all the death here says You’re God is powerless And all my thoughts confess Looks like You’ve abandoned us When babies die And mother’s cry And no one down here knows why We still say your good And we still believe That every trial’s predestined Someday we will see We know that you’re good But help us believe That all the darkness and death here Will soon bow to your name You’ve been so good You’re the God we can trust Every trial predestined Bringing blessing to us You’ve been so good You bring life from the grave All the darkness and death here Will soon bow to your name
Psalms From Christ Church
Psalm 32 What blessedness for him whose guilt Has all forgiven been! When his transgressions pardoned are And covered is his sin O blessed the man against whom the Lord Counts no iniquity. And in whose spirit there is not Deceit or treachery When I kept silent, my bones aged My groaning filled each day Your hand oppressed me day and night My moisture dried away Then I to You admitted sin, Hid not my guiltiness; I said, "I will before the Lord transgressions now confess." Then You did all my sin forgive and take my guilt For this when You are near at hand Let all the godly pray. The rising floods will harm him not You are my hiding place. And You will comfort me with songs of victory and grace. Instruction I will give to you and teach you as you go. My watchful eye will guide your steps; my counsel you will know. Be not like senseless horse or mule which if you would subdue You must with bit and bridle hold To bring him close to you The wicked many pangs endure But steadfast cov'nant love Encircles ev'ry man whose trust Is in the Lord above. Be glad and shout you righteous ones, And in the Lord rejoice! And all whose hearts are just and true Sing out with joyful voice.
Psalm 36 Transgression to the wicked speaks; Deep in the heart it lies There surely is no fear of God at all before his eyes, Because himself he flatters so In his own blinded eyes That he in his iniquity Sees nothing to despise The words he utters with his mouth Are wickedness and lies: He has refrained from doing good And ceases to be wise. His thoughts and plans upon his bed Iniquity invent; He sets himself in ways not good, From evil won't relent. Thy mercy, Lord, extends to heav'n; Thy faithfulness, the sky. Thy justice like the mounts of God: Thy judgments depths defy LORD, Thou preservest man and beast How precious, God, Thy grace. Beneath the shadow of Thy wings Men's sons their trust shall place. They with the bounty of Thy house Shall be well satisfied: From rivers full of Thy delights Thou dost their drink provide, Because the fountain filled with life Is only found with Thee And in that purest light of Thine We clearly light shall see To them that know Thee evermore Thy loving kindness show And still on men of upright heart Thy righteousness bestow Let not the foot of pride crush me Nor wicked hand detain There evildoers fall, thrust down, They cannot rise again.
Psalm 135 Hallelujah! Praise the Lord's name Praise Him. servants of the LORD You that in the Lord's house serve Him In His courtyard standing guard Praise the Lord! How good the LORD is Sing His name-how sweet its tone! For the Lord has chosen Jacob Is-ra-el to be His own Well know how great the Lord is Our Lord is above all gods For the Lord does what He pleases In all heav'n, earth, deeps, and floods. He it is Who lifts the vapors From the ends of earth and sea Who with lightnings brings the rain down From His store the wind sets free Who slew all of Egypt's firstborn On you, Egypt, wonders sent. Signs to Pharaoh and his servants Who killed kings their kingdoms rent- Mighty Sihon, Og of Bashan, Then the Kings of Canaan fell God their land gave to His people Willed it all to ls-ra-el, Bless the LORD, O house of Is-real House of Aaron, bless the LORDI Bless the LORD, O house of Levi! All who fear Him, bless the LORD! Blessings to the Lord you worship! Blessed from Zion be the LORD He whose dwelling is in Salem! Hallelujah! Praise the LORD!
