Book Club on 2/11
Our first discussion group of the book What it Means to be Protestant will be next Tuesday (2/11) from 6:00p-7:30p at Slate Funeral Home in downtown King. This is not a gender specific discussion group, so if you’d like to attend with your spouse and or family, you’re most welcome! Do be advised that the environment may not be incredibly welcoming for our five and under crew.
Matt Brown (our discussion group leader for this book) said that he has structured things in a way that will allow for a good discussion regardless of whether or not you’ve had a chance to read the book, so if you can free up that evening, but haven’t been able to free up the time for reading, don’t let that stop you.
This can serve as a solid crash course on Protestantism that will make you more confident in the theological tradition that you participate in weekly- I’d also recommend this for your high school students as it will cover some helpful history for them.

2/9 Responsive Reading
The LORD is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?
Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet I will be confident.
One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD
and to inquire in his temple.
he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;
he will lift me high upon a rock.
-Psalm 27:1-5
